We now understand so much more about the brain and how it works compared to several decades ago.

Can you think why that might be?

The field of neuroscience provided us with the technology we needed to observe the structure and function of the brain. The technology was called magnetic resonance imaging or MRI; imagine a type of x-ray for the brain but more sophisticated and these MRI machines literally provided a window in the function of our brains! How cool is that?

Would you want a picture of your brain or see which parts of it light up while you are watching a movie, remembering your spellings,  playing a musical instrument or speaking a foreign language.
