Geoffrey Shields read Economics and Social Anthropology at Manchester University and has retained an interest in organisational behaviour ever since. He has some 30 years financial experience, primarily providing and borrowing funds for infrastructure projects. Since 2003 he has been acting as an independent advisor on project finance. He is the representative of a PFI investment Fund on the Board of three operating companies with schools in Greenwich, a leisure centre in Bristol and a hospital in London.
He enjoys family life, particularly skiing and sailing holidays with two children both of whom are medics. He is a keen player of Real Tennis and Lawn Tennis, at The Queen’s Club where he has been a member for over 20 years. He has been a member of the Savile Club for 10 years where he is a member of the General Committee and the Board of Directors. His other interests include the usual round of theatre, cinema, opera, reading and cycling.
